"Her name is Eve."
Trembling with turbulent emotions, Claire releases the infant into Jacklyn's expectant arms.
"Thank you so much for choosing us. Liam and I will love and cherish her. We know you love her...we do know...You won't be disappointed or sorry about your decisions."
An awkward, painful void erupts within as Claire watches them begin to leave. Her heart and thoughts drum...Walk through, walk through, let it be over. Why are they stopping? What are they waiting for? Why is she coming back?
Jacklyn reaches out softly touching Claire's shoulder, and for a moment saying everything without saying anything, they share a mothers' bond.
"Claire, we want her to know you. We want you to know us. We'll figure this out one day at a time, okay?"
The turbulence calms as tears of peace and renewed hope flow. All that is needed to complete the circle of acceptance is her nod and smile.
They are walking out, but not forever... the void contracts a little as her thoughts and heart keep tapping.
At the door they stop and turn. Liam, Jacklyn, and infant child a picture-perfect family.
"Claire, her name is Eve."

  3. Okay, so I was originally thinking (while reading) "is this a screen play?" Then I forgot what I was thinking and wiped the tears away. Seriously! I'd like more please! :)
